Welcome

Now in its fourth year, we invite you to again Come and Sing Handel’s Messiah with us! The perfect start to your festive season, join our ensemble of professional singers as we sing through the first part of Handel’s masterpiece, also fondly referred to as the Christmas Messiah.

 

Anyone who is able to learn the music is invited to register as a Community Singer in our Come and Sing Chorus. Your Chorus Registration Fee of $40 includes a rehearsal from 2:45pm and afternoon tea at 4pm. It also includes access to a downloadable score and learning resources. When you register, you will be asked to choose your voice part— Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass. Due to space restrictions there are limited places available for each voice part. We recommend you register early to avoid missing out. Please see below for more information.

 

Not a singer? Come and enjoy a Christmas version of Handel's majestic Messiah in the stunning acoustics and beauty of Clayton Wesley Uniting Church. Audience tickets are $40 Adult, $20 Concession, and free for all children aged 17 years and under and can be purchased here.

REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE​

2:30pm: Check-in

2:45pm: Full company rehearsal

4:00pm: Afternoon tea

4:45pm: Chorus to stage (don't forget your score and water bottle)​

SCORES​

 

A score will be made available as a .pdf for you to print your own copy or download to your tablet. The downloadable score includes cuts and information from the conductor. We are using the Watkins Shaw Edition of The Messiah - published by Novello. You can use other editions however there can be differences between editions.

We expect all registered singers to either bring their own score or arrange for printing of the downloadable score.

LEARNING TRACKS​

 

We have purchased rehearsal tracks which singers will be able to download and use to help learn their part. Once you have registered, you will be sent a link where these can be downloaded.
